Food in Crisis
December 7, 2020 @ 6:45 pm - 8:30 pm

Green Futures Circle have organised at talk by
Penney Poyzer, Chair of Nottingham Good Food Partnership (NGFP)
“Reinventing life support systems – most of the world already faces chronic food shortages.”
🌳 The climate and ecological crisis, if not attended to, will also result in an agricultural and food crisis.
🌳 We see food shortages right now in the UK, but only in disadvantaged groups or individuals. Yet soon it will affect everyone, locally, nationally, globally. As things get tougher, parents feel more desperate to feed their children. It’s happened before – and it will happen again.
🌳 “Food in Crisis” seeks creative solutions by planning for the worst before it happens. Local food integrity specific to place and space will give us our best chance of coping in the short term and long term.
🌳 At this talk you will learn to recognise certain key facts in UK and global context. From this, you’ll understand how to apply solutions locally, based on successes historically and geographically distanced from here and now.
