DESCRIPTION:Climate change is often in the news. But just how bad are things really? And what can we do about it? A local talk for Nottinghamshire. \nThe planet is in ecological crisis. We are in the midst of the sixth mass extinction event this planet has experienced. \nScientists believe we may have entered a period of abrupt climate breakdown. This is an unprecedented global emergency. Our children and our nation face grave risk. \nIn this public talk for Nottinghamshire\, local members of Extinction Rebellion will share the latest climate science on where our planet is heading\, discuss some of the current psychology around climate change\, and offer solutions through the study of social movements. \nAll ages are welcome and encouraged to attend\, but places are limited on a first-come-first-served basis. \nTo ensure your place\, please book through Eventbrite – click here – no need to print paper copy.\nDue to the content of the talk\, parental discretion is advised if bringing along young children. \nThis event aims to:\nraise awareness of and tell the truth about the current environmental crisis;\narm local people with facts they can share with neighbours\, friends and family;\nconsider what we can do about this in Nottinghamshire. \nThere will be time to ask questions and discuss afterwards. DESCRIPTION:An evening of singing together and sharing music – all unplugged\, and everyone\, of all abilities and none\, is welcome! \nMarc Block will warm us up and lead us all in some XR songs and chants\, and there will be opportunities for others to lead a song or perform if you’d like to. Bring any instruments you’d like to play – the emphasis is on sharing and joining in\, though if you just want to listen you’re also very welcome. \nWe’ll probably finish the evening with a jam session. \nThe Sumac bar will be open\, and donations to Sumac for upkeep of this wonderful resource will be welcomed.
