Worse still\, the pesticides also get into the pollen and nectar\, which the bees then carry back and expose to the whole hive.\nBirds that consume small doses have also been found to lose weight and suffer delays in their migration. \nLearn about campaigns in your area and some of the actions you can take locally to stand up for our pollinators and the intricate web of life on which we all depend. \nMay 20th WORLD BEE DAY action in Newark\n\nDave Goulson is Professor of Biology at University of Sussex\, specializing in bee ecology. He has published more than 300 scientific articles on the ecology and conservation of bumblebees and other insects.He is the author of Bumblebees; Their Behaviour\, Ecology and Conservation\, and of the Sunday Times bestseller A Sting in the Tale\, a popular science book about bumble bees\, translated into seventeen languages. Silent Earth\, his latest\, book was published in August 2021.

DESCRIPTION:On Saturday 18th March\, it will only be 5 weeks until a big group of Nottingham Rebels will head to London for The Big One! \nBefore we do this\, we invite everyone to come together\, in action\, in connection and in support of each other. This simple and inclusive action is designed to galvanise our group\, creating the feeling of unity which we want to bring to Parliament in April. It will be calm\, peaceful and non-disruptive. \nAll you need to do is turn up – we’ll have placards\, flags and banners. It won’t be long; the action will be done and dusted in an hour and then we will go and hang out together somewhere warm! \nOutline timings \n\n10.45 onwards: assemble at the Left Lion in Old Market Square.\n11am: participant briefing (please ensure you are on time for this\, we won’t be hanging around).\nMidday: action ends\, followed by immediate debrief.\n12.20pm: head to the Tiger Community hub for warm food\, cake and chat.\n\nKeep your eyes peeled for placard making opportunities in the preceding weeks – this will be a fun way of connecting too🎨
