DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the next XR Nottingham gathering: “Earth Overshoot Day” \nSaturday 17th May\n3-5pm @ Meet at The Buddhist Centre\, St Mary’s Place \nJoin us for an afternoon of placard making and action planning before heading out to the streets for a pop-up action! \nWe’ll warn people ‘don’t shoot the planet’. \nAll welcome including children\, we’ll be processing around Hockley and the city centre before heading back to the Buddhist centre for a debrief and chat. \nWhere green if you like to fit in with a bit of a Robin Hood theme. \nEarth Overshoot Day marks the date when humanity’s demand for natural resources and services in a given year exceeds what Earth can regenerate in that same year. In 2025\, the UK’s Earth Overshoot Day falls on May 20th\, which is earlier than the global average\, indicating that the UK consumes resources at a much higher rate than the global average.
