“Of all the dangers we face, from climate chaos to nuclear war, none is so great as the deadening of our response.” Joanna Macy

In the face of overwhelming social and ecological crises, “The Work That Reconnects” helps people transform despair and apathy into constructive, collaborative action. It brings a new way of seeing ourselves within the world as our larger living body.

This perspective encourages us to question the assumptions and attitudes that now threaten the continuity of life on Earth. We can choose to align with business as usual which is threatening so many living systems, or adapt to a life-sustaining society. The latter takes work, and sometimes the challenges can feel overwhelming.

Doing Hope is an experiential workshop developed by Clare Bonetree, inspired by Joanna Macy’s “The Work that Reconnects” and is informed by trauma recovery work.

Led by experienced group facilitators Jessie Cooke and Ian Coleman, the workshop is based on Joanna Macy’s Active Hope Spiral that includes four stages:

  • grounding in gratitude
  • acknowledging what grieves us and brings us low
  • finding a new way to see through a lens of hope
  • committing to go out into the world renewed

Most importantly, we do this together.

The workshop is being held in Beeston, Nottingham and tickets are available on EVENTBRITE
